Trump proves he is not fit for global leadership

US President Donald Trump’s executive order banning nationals from seven predominantly Muslim countries – Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen – has shocked the world to its core.

It was surprising that such a show of anti-Muslim sentiment came from the United States, which is looked upon as the freest, most admired and most advanced society in terms of progressive thinking.
The main reason for Trump’s action seems to be to satisfy the promise he made to the voters who chose to elect him – to keep out or limit the number of Muslims in the US. This is unreasonable.
His action has triggered protests all over the world, with people demonstrating under slogans such as “Immigrants make America great”, “Not my populism”, and “Ban ignorance – not immigrants”.
Hence, though he has taken his chair in the Oval Office, this display of Islamophobia by Trump demonstrates he is not qualified to be a leader of today’s world.
