CUSTOM-TUNED for balanced in-game audio and communications, the new Razer Kraken Pro V2 over-ear headset will delight gamers with its large drivers that boost explosions and other game sound effects. Boasting a comfortable and durable design, the Kraken Pro V2 features two 50-mm audio drivers, considerably larger than those of its predecessor.
The headphones have a frequency response of 12 hz to 28 kHz and 32 ohms of impedance and high sensitivity of 118 dB.
The frame is made of Bauxite aluminium, making the headphones light, flexible and durable. Razer says it has carried out extensive testing to ensure that the Kraken Pro V2 can withstand the rigours of long-time gaming.
The headband is designed in such a way as to distribute weight and reduce clamping force so the headset can be worn for hours on end. Larger and softer cushions both add to the comfort level while sealing off outside noise more effectively.
Team communications are essential for e-sports competitions and the headset comes with a microphone with in-line remote for clear communications. The unidirectional mic is fully retractable while the in-line remote gives you instant access to the volume and mute controls. The microphone has high sensitivity too, thus ensuring your shotcalls and strategic discussions will be delivered to your team with clarity.

The microphone has a frequency response of 100 Hz to 10 kHz, a signal to noise ratio of more than 55 dB and sensitivity of -38 dB.
Since the headphones are designed for game playing, they are not suitable for listening to music as they will cause the mid-range sounds to come across as stiff and lacking in finesse. This is because the drivers are designed to respond very fast to the sound effects of the games, boost the booming bass and the high pitches. If you must use the headset to listen to music, make sure to plug into hard rock rather than sweet pop music or any tunes that feature vocals.
The test found the headphones really delivered good sound effects, making me feel I was at the centre of the action. The explosions were great, satisfyingly deep and shaking.
The headphones are really comfortable to wear too. I had them on for four hours without developing any sensation of clamping.
The Kraken Pro V2 comes with a 1.3-metre cable and 2-metre extension cable with mic/headphone splitter adapter.
