Phya crafts discerning designs with fresh ideas

TAPPING INTO her passion for fashion and craftworks, combined with her experimental character, Jirayong Anuman-Rajadhon, creative director of premium leather bag Phya brand, delivered truly fresh ideas. 
Through quality designs of premium leather crafts, her designs have resulted in modern leather bags that serve the demands of today’s fashion-conscious buyers. The styles were first presented at a red carpet fashion show at Sathorn Square Building.
The show was crowded, with a number of celebrities in attendance, including Praya Lundberg who was a model for the finale.
Jirayong said the brand name Phya reflects the high quality of the bags. Professional Thai craftsmen using premium grade materials from Italy create the fundamental modern design. The style is aimed at ladies who prefer elegance and convenience to enhance their confident image. 
“My objective is to make a brand created by Thai people that will gain recognition in the world-wide fashion industry. The quality of work will differentiate our brand from others in the world market. 
“Apart from a design based on my preference in fashion and craft work, I also emphasise the high quality materials used and the professional team of craftsmen with lengthy experience,” she says. 
The brand stands out with its sharpness in structure and a hint of architectural design, combined with the soft texture of leather which maintains its natural pattern as part of a masterpiece, such as the vegetable tanned cowhide from Italy. Also used is lambs leather in a quilt pattern called Nappa and premium exotic leather such as crocodile, stingray and ostrich. 
Moreover, premium hardware ornaments give a distinctive experience, such as handles designed at an angle for more convenience. 
Metal stands support the bags and protect them from damage, as well as a beautifully twisted chain shoulder–strap. Colour tones, such as burgundy, charcoal black, royal blue and ivory beige enhance the owner’s personality.
For the debut collection, Phya selected elegant looks through four styles. The brand’s signature model entitled “Queen” is made of black crocodile leather with a special gold hanging chain in a beehive shape. Craftsmen have used a special technique of bending pieces to make handles in a perfect curved angle.
Secondly, a boxy crocodile leather handbag named “Olivia” is more practical with lightweight handles and a metal stand which adds to the sophisticate style for day and night use. It stands out with a hexagon beehive lock and comes in classic burgundy leather, royal blue and classic black. The next model is the “Diana” medium sized bag which has a professional look in a feminine style. It is made of premium crocodile leather with a classic shoulder strap. Finally, “Natalie” is designed to appeal to the confident, elegant lady, delivering brilliant style through a rectangle-shaped handbag. 
It is decorated with a shiny golden chain in a unique design of Virginia lamb and nappa from Italy. Inside the bag is lamb suede in red to contrast with the black colour of the bag. The bag’s medium size has a large capacity while remaining elegant.
