Belgium’s Queen wins hearts of Laotians as ‘good Samaritan’

Social media in Laos praised Her Majesty the Queen Mathilde of Belgium as a very kindhearted person after she was seen leaving her car to help injured people in a road accident.

The Queen who was on a 4-day mission in Laos for UNICEF from February 20-23, asked her motorcade to stop when they passed the scene of a road accident in order to see if they could be of any help, Flandersnews.be reported Thursday.
Mathilde's motorcade of 15 cars was heading to Pakse Airport.
The website said when they passed the scene of a road accident that had apparently just happened, Mathilde asked her driver to stop. Her delegation included two doctors working for UNICEF, the United Nations' Children's Fund.
Mathilde left the car, called the doctors and checked how the victims were.
The website reported that she only got back in the car when she was certain that the victims had only light injuries. The motorcade continued, but the doctors stayed on at the site to look after the injured.
Her photos at the scene were circulated in Laos social media and many Laotian online users expressed their thankfulness for the Queen’s kindness.
