To lift the standard of the league to be more challenging and meet the international standard in 2017, the association has divided the league into divisions under “Thailand Go League 2017”. The league calls for 12 teams which requires six to eight members each, totalling 88 players. Each team will comprise three high ranking players, three low ranking players, and and optional choice of not more than two additional players, who has to be only female, youth, person with disabilities, or players from provinces.
