Spirits with a refined taste
Gonzalez Byass SA and Iconic Wines Thailand recently joined up to launch their extensive spirit portfolio in Thailand at Uno Mas at Centara Grand Hotel Bangkok with a spirit master class led by Boris Ivan Gonzalez Byass, the firm’s Worldwide Spirits Ambassador.
The highlight of the night was an array of signature cocktails made with London No 1 Gin. With its characteristic blue colour, the London No 1 Gin is triple distilled under the expert direction of master distiller Charles Maxwell. The London No 1 is made from the highest quality English grain spirit from the sunny fields of Suffolk and Norfolk. Distillation takes place in a traditional pot still with 12 carefully selected botanicals.
“In 1771, Arthur Wellesley’s townhouse was built on the southeast-facing corner of Hyde park in London, UK. Its formal name was Apsley house but it quickly became known as the No1 London. Since then, London No1 has become synonymous with refined elegance, artistry and culture, attributes that are proudly reflected in this gin,” Gonzalez Byass explained.
Guests at the event were also introduced to other spirits by Gonzalez Byass. Another gin brand, MOM, "The Queen of Gin" is created with the aim of breaking stereotypes. Soft but with character, elegant and rebellious, this Premium gin made with red botanicals and exotic fruits used because of their gentle nature and elegant English spirit.
Nomad Outland Whisky is a unique whisky in its kind, born and aged in Scotland to be finished in Jerez, Spain. It’s a blend of 5-8 year old whiskies from Speyside that are aged in Oloroso sherry barrels from Gonzalez Byass in Scotland, followed by one more year ageing in Jerez (Spain) in PX sherry barrels from Gonzalez Byass.
Also introduced was Lepanto Brandy, an icon in the Premium brandy category in Spain and the only “Brandy de Jerez” to be produced using the Palomino grape variety, grown on Gonzalez Byass vineyards in Jerez.
