“Mass Sports Participation has constantly grown to its peak in both regional and international levels. The mass sports is an inclusive event that gather participants of all ages and classes into one; be it marathon, cycling, or triathlon. MPA is a pioneer conference in Asia that brings international experts from all sports as well as those from other industries, to meet and exchange knowledge. To achieve our goal, support and cooperation to drive the industry with high efficiency will be needed,” said Chris Robb, Founder and CEO of MASS PARTICIPATION SPORTS Co., Ltd., the copyright owner of the MPA.

“The MPA will be tremendously beneficial for Thailand as it will draw a large number of experts from around the world to the country. These experts will bring in content for mass sports participation, technique to penetrate into behind the sports industry to seek new ideas, technique to apply cases from around the world to local situations such as the quick success of Boston Marathon and Music Run. The event will also bring in more business opportunities for products and to build more business partners in the industry,” said Boonperm Intanapasat, Chairman of Muse Group Bangkok Co., Ltd., promotor of the MPA in Thailand.

“Most importantly, the event will be a networking platform to link experts from around the world. The conference is a platform to seek knowledge and building connections as well as search for international contents to improve local organizations, cities, or generate more income for communities. Our goal is to hold the conference annually and set up the center for MASS PARTICIPATION THAILAND CENTER (MPTC) in Thailand. The center will become the network that links people, knowledge, connections, and content from around the world. Participants will be from both public and private sectors, which are government agencies or sports event organizers, sport promotors, or agencies supporting sports as a marketing strategy, organizations holding sports events to raise funds, or sports-related product producers, as well as general public.”

“It’s become clearer that Thailand is able to attract more visitors with sports tourism. Major international sports events have shown that international athletes participating in events will usually stay longer and spend more. Thailand has now put effort in making itself an international sports hub, driven by sports tourism. The first-phase plan, 1-3 years, will focus on bringing in international events to Thailand and pushing more mass sport participation in the country. The plan is also to encourage value-added to be created in events by public and private sectors, to enhance revenues and image recognition, for sustainable economic growth, which is also in line with the MPA. Another goal is also to promote Thailand as a leading destination to hold golf events. Its picturesque landscape can be perfect for cycling events. The country also provides international training centers. Thailand has potential to host any international events,” said Thanukiat Chanchum, director for sports and boxing at Sports Authority of Thailand.
