PM praises Ratchanok for excellent performance at All England
Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha said Ratchanok Intanon may lose the All England Open final but she won the hearts of Thai fans.
The premier extended his consolation message for the badminton star through Khun Ying Patama Leeswadtrakul, the Thai badminton chief. Ratchanok lost the final to world No 1 Tai Tzu Ying 16-21 20-22 in 51 minutes on Sunday’s night.
According to Patama, the prime minister said: “I’d continue my support for Ratchanok. She may lose the match but won the hearts of Thai fans all over the country.”
Prayuth also said in his message that: “Ratchanok still has a long journey ahead. She is a good example and inspiration of Thai youngsters to play badminton and for Thai people to play sports. I would like to see Thais work out more. Keep on fighting May (Ratchanok’s nickname).”
