Thai cuisine in the spotlight

Back to promote Thai food as the kitchen of the world, the World Food Expo 2017, running from Thursday (March 23) to April 9 at CentralWorld, will feature countless food shops, cooking demonstrations of ancient Thai dishes and the latest innovations in the food industry.

Organised by the Industry Ministry, Central Group and the private sector, the event is being divided into four major zones, among them the Street Food and Food Truck zone, which will be home to 48 street food eateries and 24 food trucks where visitors can indulge in both authentic Thai foods and delicacies with modern twist.
The Food Industry zone comprises 109 booths exhibiting innovations and technology to maximise its value in food export business. There will also be cooking demonstrations of Thai fusion food using such innovations. Chefs from well-known restaurants will take turns showing off their modern Thai creations for visitors to taste.
Famous Thai restaurants like Blue Elephant, Taling Pling and Kallaprapruk will offer authentic Thai dishes in the “Lost Recipe” corner. Talented chefs will also conduct cooking demonstrations of ancient Thai foods rarely found in restaurants.
In the Food Cluster Pavilion of the Thai Leader Cluster zone, decked out on a beach bar theme, national leading manufacturers including Thai Beverage, Singha Corporation and Betagro Group will present innovations and their latest products. Visitors can relax at the Santorini zone where they can take part in fun activities and listen to live music.
