Note stretches his vocal chords

Note stretches his vocal chords

A celebrity at the age of nine when he picked Rang Rockestra’s rock ballad “Khidtueng” for the final round of KPN youth singing contest, Sarun “Note” Kungbunpot in now all grown up and back in the spotlight as the voice actor for Lumiere in Walt Disney’s latest blockbuster “Beauty and the Beast”.

“It’s an honour to be chosen, it’s like a dream comes true,” he says.
It is not an easy job as Sarun had to pass the casting by Disney, which meant working hard on his preparation.
He says it was much harder than his previous job as a voice actor with Disney on the animation “Moana”, pointing to enormous differences between an animation and a movie based on a classic musical.
As Lumiere, he has to sing “Be Our Guest” and also tackle a lot of dialogue.
Sarun is also representing Thailand at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in the US in June and July, the same stage where Thai singer Thatchai Keng captured 14 gold medals and five trophy awards last year.
“The contest is very challenging so I’m working hard on my singing,” he says.
