Mansion of European art opens

Celebrity collector ML Boonyanuch Kashemsanta Dulyachinda recently launched her “Chateau de la Porcelaine”, which she describes as an “authentic European ceramic mansion for Thai people to experience for free”.

The mansion features more than 10,000 authentic European ceramic items and has been renovated in true European style.

    “I collected classic items as a child but then I fell in love with European ceramics,” she says.
    “I started collecting European ceramics 30 years ago. My husband, Suraspan, who is a government officer in the field of education, and I are well aware of the importance of education so we decided to open this mansion for those who are interested to learn about product design, art and European history and culture. The ceramics on show include tea sets, perfume bottles from various European countries, furniture and home decoration items such as lamps, European dolls, living room sets and make up tables and are between 50 and 200 years old,” ML Boonyanuch explains.
    Chateau de la Porcelaine has 17 rooms, of which five are now open. Decorated in European style, each room displays products and equipment imported from overseas.
    The opening event, which took the form of a English-style tea party, was attended by celebrities and collectors of vintage and classic items including Jarin Sumanont, Prateep and  Assoc Prof Dr Yuwadee Liewpairat, Dr Rakchana Apikasemsant, Krongkarn Chamanant, Suriyon Sriorathaikul, Warawuth Laohapongchana, Apasara Techarattanachai, Sumittra Kijkamjai, Pacharawan Ngampromsakul, Naruemol Lertkampeesil, Nothinan Thikhunkong, Duangsamorn Talomsin, Supa Hongthong, Hatairat Chulangkul, Avika Changjenkij, Picharm and Pimpisa Chamanant, Patraphan Liewpairat and Varisara Techavichien. An auction of six ceramic items was held to raise funds for art education.
Chateau de la Porcelaine is open to students and interested members of the public. Admission is free and European culture experts are available on request.
