Bonding for the holidays

Bonding for the holidays

The Family Trip Expo 2017 – a travel show that provides access to high-quality travel content suitable for everyone in the family – will be held at the Royal Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon, from June 16-18.

The expo is set to showcase a broad range of high quality and reasonably priced travel and hospitality offers for everyone in the family, and highlights the importance of family bonds as a crucial part of creating social connections with children and youth.
“Palukteawda was set up by a small online network of parents whose children were studying in the same kindergarten class. It started as a LINE group to exchange opinions and ideas on everything from raising children to travel recommendations and arrangements for group members. The group is growing bigger and has been transformed into the Palukteawda Facebook Page, where member parents are able to share their holiday experiences,” says Paphon Wongprasertsuk, founder of the Palukteawda Facebook Page.
“ We found that today’s modern parents are looking for travel options that allow everyone in the family to spend quality time together, and we would like to extend this opportunity to other parents and families to gain access to such memorable family trips and activities,”
The Family Trip Expo 2017 on the theme “Bring Kids Out to Try, Travel, Play and Learn”, will offer new opportunities for children to try exciting activities by themselves and broaden their horizons through a wide variety of trips and activities that everyone in the family can also enjoy.
“Learning by Travelling” aims to promote learning outside of the classroom by enabling children to learn and explore new knowledge and experiences while strengthening bonds among family members and creating social unity among children and youth.
Part of efforts to promote domestic travel, the Family Trip Expo targets families and parents whose children are between three and 15 years old.
A Theme Zone will feature highlighted travel destinations suitable for all family members and edutainment and experiential activities for children. The Exhibitor Zone will bring together travel and hospitality products and services aimed at children and families with special promotions, while the Playground will be a dedicated play area in the heart of the expo for children to enjoy while parents are navigating the travel packages on offer.
Key highlights include learning activities for children such as the miniature brine salt farm from Samut Songkram Province, where children can learn how to make brine salt from salt farmers with more than 40 years of experience as well as how to make homemade salted eggs; an organic vegetable farming workshop by Thai Organic Farm; a farm recycle art workshop by Farm De Lek; Mini Insect Zoo by Siam Insect Zoo; DIY Pizza with Mini Murrah Farm; Science Lounge Fun Play by Science Illustrated magazine; and a mobile exhibition ‘Thai Thai’ by Museum Siam. Other activities include science showcases and seminars by Take Kids with Us Facebook Page.
