Fish with a fighting streak

Fish with a fighting streak

TK Park joins up with Kasetsart University and Khwansiri Fighting Fish Farm to host the exhibition “Pla Kad…Nak Su Hang Siam” (“Siamese Fighting Fish”) to teach the public about this popular species and highlight the physical and personality differences between pure breed and mixed breed fish.

Fighting fish or bettas have been a part of Thai society since ancient times and remain popular today, with owners caring for their fish in bowls, tanks and in proper farms.
Hundreds of fish are on show at the event, which explains the bettas’ role in society and the traditional ways of caring for them.
A photography workshop this Saturday and Sunday April 22-23) will teach shutterbugs the best way to photograph the fish and capture their constant movement.
A second workshop on April 29 and 30 will focus on how to catch the Koi betta, a marbled species with similar markings and colour variations to the classic koi carp. Those who manage to scoop up a fish get to take it home.
The exhibition runs daily from 11am to 5pm at the dream space, TK Park on the 8th floor of Central World
