Nudnida, Varaunya win doubles in Hua Hin ITF Week 1
Nudnida Luangnam and Varaunya Wongteanchai posted with their trophies following the final win over Patcharin Cheapchandej and Han Sung-Hee of South Korea 7-5 6-2 in the US$15,000 Cal-Comp & XYZ Printing ITF Pro Circuit W1 at the True Arena Hua Hin on Friday.
It was a sweet revenge for Nudnida who earlier in the day went down to Patcharin 3-6 4-6 in the singles semi-finals. The 30-year-old was engaged in a tough quarter-final with Indian Prena Bhambri on Thursday which took a toll on her in the singles event.
Patcharin meanwhile has won all her three matches against the older opponent. She is now in her first ITF final and will play Chinese Zhang Ling, who ousted countrywoman Sun Ziyue 2-6 6-2 7-5, in the final today.
Zhang, ranked No 655 in the world, will play for her first title in three years since winning an ITF trophy in Nonthaburi in 2014.
