Keep on running

 Keep on running

If you love running but would like to improve your pace, sign up for the Nike+ Run Club (NRC) Open session that is being organized every Wednesday in Lumpini Park. With NRC coaches and pacers on hand to share guidance and training plans, the event also offers an opportunity to engage with like-minded enthusiasts.

“NRC BKK is led by Coach Sathik ‘Peng’ Thanathakand and Coach Keyoon ‘Paint’ Laohasukpaisal. Together with 19 pacers, they will inspire runners to achieve their goals and go beyond, throughout their running journey,” says Pannee Santiwiwatkul, country marketing manager of Nike Thailand.

NRC BKK is the latest addition to the string of NRC events popping up around Southeast Asia, from Manila to Jakarta. The NRC BKK experience is complemented by the Nike+ Run Club app, which tracks runs, provides personalised coaching that adapts to any level of running ability, and allows runners to compare and compete with friends and other runners against specific goals or challenges.

The recent opening event saw Boy Lomosonic and the NYC BridgeRunners crew talk about their personal running experiences and exchange their Nike Air VaporMax designs, signifying a warm welcome to Bangkok and the embrace of cultures before kicking off the 5km run in Lumpini Park together with more than 100 runners.

“I would like to invite everyone interested in running to get guidance and tips from Nike’s coaches and pacers to improve their running skills. This is also a platform where runners can exchange their views and inspire each other,” Boy Lomosonic said.

“Bangkok is one of the brightest cities in the world, so you can go out and run every day, whether in the park or on the street. It is also home to many beautiful attractions and landmarks that distinguish it from cities in other countries. As a street runner, I’m excited with my first run in Thailand and I’m very impressed to meet up with Thai runners and be introduced to many big running clubs here. Their existence is solid evidence of how popular running is in Bangkok. My invaluable moments and experiences from this Thai visit will definitely inspire me to keep running. I hope to be back again soon for my next runs here and in other beautiful Thai provinces as well,” said Cedric Hernandez, captain of the NYC BridgeRunners.

Gear up with the latest Nike Running innovations and reserve a spot at a NRC BKK session at www.nike.com/bangkok or Nike+ Run Club app or Nike outlets at Siam Square One or Siam Discovery.
