Singha Corporation, official supplier to MENA Tour’s Thailand swing

Singha Corporation, official supplier to MENA Tour’s Thailand swing

Singha will tee it up as the official Drinking Water and Beverages Supplier to the MENA Tour’s three-event Thailand swing that gets under way with the MahaSamutr Masters from Tuesday, May 2.

As part of a ground-breaking agreement, the Singha Corporation Company Limited that produces and markets drinking water and beverage products will have significant on-site presence to ensure the players and the support staff are refreshed and hydrated when they hit the golf course.

Well-known for supplying zonated, UV treated, micro-filtered and hygienically packed bottled water, Singha is no stranger to golf having associated with many Asian Tour and other premier events in Thailand and beyond, but it will be their first foray into the MENA Tour in a wonderful reflection of the tour’s – and that of golf’s – rising popularity in the Land of Smiles.

“We are delighted to be involved with the MENA Tour which has grown exponentially over the years and look forward to the successful events. Our sponsorship with the MENA Tour aligns well with our strategy to place Singha products at the forefront of premier events that underline Thailand’s growing reputation as Asia’s golf tourism leader,” said Santi Bhirom Bhakdi, CEO of Singha Corporation Company Limited.

Mohamed Juma Buamaim, Chairman of the MENA Tour, said: “We feel proud and privileged to welcome Singha Corporation on board an Official Supplier. With over 25 countries represented in each event, the global flavor of the MENA Tour will provide a perfect platform for Singha Corporation to build their brand awareness among an interested audience.”

“Sponsorship provides the lifeline of a sporting event and we hope that this relationship with Singha Corporation will help in promoting our events to Thai golfing enthusiasts. We look forward to some exciting time ahead.

"With MENA Tour travelling to new destinations, we need all the support we can get in creating meaningful playing opportunities for our members. Teaming up with Singha Corporation are a decisive step forward in that direction.”

The MENA Tour’s Thailand swing will start with the MahaSamutr Masters, sponsored by MahaSamutr Country Club in Hua Hin, a 54 holes tournament hosted by the Banyan Golf Club from May 2 to 4.

The tour will visit Korat for the Mountain Creek Open the following week on May 8-10 at the Seve Ballesteros-designed Mountain Creek Golf Club. The final of this year’s Thailand swing will be the 72-holes Pattana Golf Championship, sponsored and hosted by the Pattana Golf Club and Resort in Chonburi on May 16-19.

The highlights of all three tournaments will be shown on TV across the world, including FOX Sports and True Sports in Asia.

An initiative of the Shaikh Maktoum Golf Foundation, the MENA Golf Tour was created in 2011 with the aim of developing golf in the region. It is affiliated to R&A, the worldwide golf governing body based in the home of golf, St Andrews, and the Arab Golf Federation and enjoy the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) status.

A guaranteed spot on the PGA Tour’s 2018 DEAN & DELUCA Invitational (for the MENA Tour champion), multiple European Tour starts, including the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, the Hassan II Trophy, Maybank Championship Malaysia, and the KLM Open, are some of the added incentives that await MENA Tour members, in addition to playing privileges on the Sunshine Tour, and exemptions into the final Stage of the Sunshine Tour and Asian Tour Q-Schools.
