Panasonic Siew Sales (Thailand) and the Fine Arts Department are now inviting entries for the 19th edition of the Panasonic Contemporary Painting Competition on the topic “To the Delight of Mankind”.

Applicants must hold Thai nationality and live in Thailand and the works submitted must never have been shown in a competition.

At least three pieces each with a two-metre frame should be submitted on May 30 and 31 to the Faculty of Fine Arts of Chiang Mai University, the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts of Mahasarakham University, Khon Kaen University, Thaksin University in Songkhla, and Burapha University, Nakhon Si Thammarat College of Fine Arts and to The National Gallery Bangkok on June 1-2. 

The judging panel is made up of Kamchorn Soonpongsri, Thongchai Rakpathum, national artist in visual arts 2010, Decha Warachun, national artist in visual arts, 2007, Ithipol Tangchalok, Preecha Thaothong, national artist in visual arts 2009, and Kiettisak Chanonnart, national artist in visual arts in 2006.

The winners will be announced at on June 9 and a presentation ceremony and exhibition will be organised at The National Gallery Bangkok from August 3-27. Prizes include Panasonic products worth Bt500,000.
