Cabinet nod for Exat to use toll income to finance new projects

With the government still planning to pave the way for development of the nation’s infrastructure with fund mobilisation through the Thailand Future Fund, the Cabinet decided on Tuesday to allow the Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat) to use toll-based income from its existing projects to finance new projects.

Exat will be able to use toll-based income from the Chalong Rat Expressway (Ram Indra-Artnarong) and Buraphavithi Expressway (Bang Na-Chon Buri) to finance new infrastructure projects, said Ekniti Nitithanprapas, director-general of the State Enterprise Policy Office.
Such new projects include the Rama III-Dao Khanong-Western Bangkok Outer Ring Expressway, and the N2 expressway project (northern route) and East-West Corridor in the East.
