Royal projects through the lens

Canon Marketing Thailand pays tribute to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej with the launch of the “2nd CanonLife Redefine: the Thai Alphabetical Index” contest and is now inviting shutterbugs to submit works depicting the late Monarch’s royal projects.

Prizes include money and Canon products worth more than Bt400,000 in total.

“Canon is committed to conducting corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaigns that offer an opportunity for Canon camera users across Thailand to participate through creative photography with the goal of returning benefits to society,” says Rattikorn Nampila, Assistant Director of Corporate Communications, Canon Marketing (Thailand).

“This year’s CanonLife Redefine project aims to remember the benevolence of King Bhumibol who worked tirelessly for the benefit and happiness of the Thai people, as manifested in his more than 4,000 development projects in every region of Thailand”.

The online photo competition encourages the public to submit photographs that tell the story of any of the royal projects or related products and innovations. The best 44 pictures will be selected to create alphabetical indices based on the 44 letters in the Thai alphabet as well as to produce learning materials and an e-book for schools, so that the children will understand and remember the significance of the royal-initiated projects.

The criteria for the selection of best photographs include accurate presentation, composition, creativity and technique. Interested lensmen can submit entries through www.Canon.co.th/life until August 16.
