No Theerathon and Chanathip in Rajevac's 24

No Theerathon and Chanathip in Rajevac's 24

Milovan Rajevac has selected his 24-member cut for the next week’s World Cup Qualifiers Group B home game against the United Arab Emirates without two injured key players Theerathon Bunmathan and Chanathip Songkrasin.

Right after the trip back from Amalty where he side lost to Uzbekistan 0-2 in the FIFA Day game, the national coach yesterday  announced his squad for the Tuesday’s match with UAE. The former national captain Theerathon and striker Chanathip were reported to have a wisdom tooth operation and right hip injury respectively and subsequently were removed from the list by their club Muangthong United.

The absence of Bangkok United’s Teeratep Winothai in the list added up to another surprise after the forward was recalled for the national team in years. Teeratep was also in the team for the friendly in Uzbekistan.

Chiangrai United’s Suriya Singmui who is in the under 23 team was the latest to be included in the team. Muangthong players Monkol Tossakrai and Siroch Chatthong have been all selected as forwards.

However it is uncertain if another key striker Teerasilp Dangda will recover from an injury in time for the game. Teerasilp was training with the team on Thursday while  Adisak Kraisong has already been called to join the team just in case.

All 24 players will be encamped at the Kiarti Thani Country Club from now until June 13, the day for the game with the Middle Eastern team. However only 23 player will make the final cut which will be announced later.

The game against the UAE is due at the Rajamangala National Stadium at 7pm on Tuesday which can be seen live on Channel 7.
