Phuket marathon serves up another international triumph
I have just returned from Phuket and yet again I am spellbound by the way the Laguna Phuket Marathon is organised.
The spirit of community seems so strong. The entire area gears up for the event and the wholehearted enthusiasm is contagious.
The crowd cheers on the runners who brave the heat and humidity to complete the distance. It is no wonder that this year saw over 7,000 participants from 51 countries participate in the event. I have already booked my hotel for the 2018 marathon and will also book my place for the run as soon as it opens up this week. My hearty congratulations and sincere thanks to the entire organising team and the authorities in Phuket who make it happen – the police force, the volunteers and the medical team on site.
