Up close with the Na’vi

Up close with the Na’vi

The world of Pandora, made famous in James Cameron’s fantasy, sci-fi blockbuster, jumps out of the silver screen into one of Bangkok’s shopping malls in the “Avatar: Discover Pandora” exhibition running from July 1 to September 3 at The Mall Bang Kapi.

Visitors will be able to explore the wondrous discoveries found on the world of Pandora and the engaging immersive environment that highlight Pandora’s diverse and exotic flora and fauna, along with the amazing culture and traditions of its indigenous people, the Na’vi.

“Learning more about Pandora can inspire us to be even more curious and thoughtful about our own planet,” said Kathy Franklin, president, franchise development at Lightstorm Entertainment. “With this exhibition we hope to give guests a unique, engaging experience that helps them see the world in new ways.”

The film’s creative team has worked closely with Lightstorm and FoxNext to create an exhibition as authentic and groundbreaking as James Cameron’s remarkable 2009 film. The scope captures the phenomenal beauty of the alien world, and brings it back to earth, for a unique look at the many ways Pandora reflects our own planet.

Captivating settings such as the Tree of Souls and life-sized recreations of creatures including the Banshee, Direhorse, and Viperwolf, are on display. Curated by the Pandoran Research Foundation, the exhibition will leave the 21st century behind and step into the 22nd century world of the Avatar franchise.

Visitors can learn about space travel and the science behind the discovery of Pandora in the Alpha Centauri solar system and explore recreations of Pandora’s most compelling environments showcasing its unique plants and animals and what they can teach us about our own planet.

“We are excited to be a partner of Mactus and its aims to create an amazing experience as well as to bring an unforgettable phenomenon here. We believe that ‘Avatar: Discover Pandora – Bangkok’ will receive positive feedback from Thai fans and tourists as well. Mactus and I would like to thank The Mall Group, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Mono Group and Plan B Media Public Company Limited.” said Chatuphol Sithichai, managing director of Pixel One Event & Festival.

Tickets are Bt300 for M card members, Bt390 for children and Bt490 for adults.
