Jeans to wear “high and tight”

Now the new Levi’s 501 Skinny cuts are taking the very style that introduced blue jeans to the world and customising it with a slimmer leg to give it an edge reflective of current trends.
The new fit holds true to the ageless heritage of the 501 Original with a button fly and classic look, but is remastered with a skinnier leg crafted especially for 2017. The skinny jeans have become a wardrobe essential, and the 501 Skinny add an authentic, vintage feel to your closet that only the creators of the blue jean can offer.
Head designer, Jonathan Cheung explains. “We are very careful when we touch the 501, and we do it with a lot of respect. People have been altering their vintage 501 jeans for a snug, skinnier fit for years, so we followed that and created a vintage-looking 501 Skinny.”
Available in non-stretch, low stretch and a range of washes for both men and women, the 501® Skinny joins the 501® Family, alongside the 501 Original and the 501CT. The newest member comes with a few stylistic differences from its predecessors: the women’s fit has a waist-enhancing rise, the men’s fit sits comfortably below the waist and both fits feature the skinny leg design to round out every denim lover’s wardrobe.
As for skinny jean naysayers, Cheung points out that the skinny jeans have become the everyday basic and a staple. “The 501 Skinny is a different type of skinny. It’s not a super-stretchy jegging style – it’s a fresh new way of wearing a skinny,” he said. “Our new 501 Skinny looks like a vintage pair of 501 jeans but with different silhouette, and it’s hitting that sweet spot for the woman who is looking for something in addition to their basic skinnies. Ladies, what you are getting here is vintage-look 501, made to be worn ‘high and tight’, like you’ve vacuum packed yourself into a 501,” he added. “It’s a bit of a showstopper.”
