Frenchmen win doubles in Hua Hin
French pair Yannick Jankovits and Clement Larriere beat Aussie duo Jeremy Beale and Thomas Fancutt by a skin of their teeth to claim the doubles title of the US$15,000 ITF Men’s Futures 3 in Hua Hin on Friday.
The fourth seeded Frenchmen took one hour and nine minutes to win the final match 6-3 3-6 11-9 at the True Arena Hua Hin. They shared the prize money of US$930 while the runners-up will split a US$540 cheque.
Jankovits will also fight for the men’s singles trophy against Ly Hoang Nam of Vietnam on Saturday following his comfortable win over Sidharth Rawat of India 6-4 6-0.
Ly, the third seed, advanced to the final after Beale retired with injury at 2-6 0-2.
