Metro Systems to launch rebranded Digital Printing Group on August 1
Metro Systems, making full use of HP PageWide Printers in a bid to take the lead in the office-supplies business, has been named Thailand distributor for the printer and will be rebranded as Digital Printing Group.
“Office Supplies Group, one of our core business units, is now moving from being an office-supplies distributor to a complete digital-printing operation,” said Thongchai Lumveerakul, the group’s president.
“Our strategy is to lead the business with a full range of HP PageWide Printer platforms to meet our customers’ requirements, from small operations to big enterprises.”
Office Supplies Group’s rebranding as Digital Printing Group (DPG) takes effect on August 1.
The transformation results from increasing competition in the office-supplies market and various business changes.
Customers tend to prefer pay-per-use to buying machines, leading to the new business model of offering printing-service contracts, which cover the printers, other office supplies and maintenance services, Thongchai said.
“This is the starting point for Metro Systems to enhance our business value with the best services,” he said. “The company began marketing HP PageWide Printers four years ago and has always had a good response from customers. This year we decided to focus solely on HP technology – the world’s fastest printer, with low energy consumption and economical printing costs.
“We aim to sell every platform, including paper sizes A4, A3, A0 and 3D, and have now been officially appointed by HP Inc as a distributor of the HP A3 PageWide Printer.”
Thongchai said the multifunctional printer is not just cheaper and faster in producing colour prints but also shows security alerts on its display screen about possible cyber threats.
“The cloud innovation – the HP Smart Device Services (SDS) platform – helps maximise uptime with advanced analytics to solve problems remotely.
“You can produce 35 pages per minute in Multifunction mode, 60 per minute in Print-only mode and
80 per minute in General Office mode, all with energy efficiency.”
DPG will on August 1 begin offering a full range of printing products and services for offices, including hire-purchase and rentals.
“We believe Digital Printing Group will be the preferred solution for any modern office,” Thongchai said. “We’re now ready to provide better services for our customers and help them achieve stability and sustainability.”
