Strange love in the big city

Strange love in the big city

Ekachai Uekrongtham, creator and executive producer of GMM Grammy subsidiary GMM Bravo, recently introduced his latest project, “Bangkok Rak Stories”, in a special event at the Atrium of Siam Centre, in the company of several actors and actresses as well as their fan clubs.

The project, which is based on love songs that have enjoyed the most views, consists of four new series inspired by Atom’s “Please”, Labanoon’s “Phae Thang”, Ammy the Bottom Blues’ “Kep Rak” and Nakarin “Pang” Kingsak’s “Khon Mee Saneh.”

“Bangkok is a big city with a very unique character and charm, and has many love stories just like New York, Paris and Tokyo. So, this project is offering four destinations and four colours of our city through four love songs and four new series,” Ekachai explained.

“The first, ‘Please’, is set on Sathorn Road and focuses on three single ladies who fall in love with a gay, an older teacher and the father of a friend respectively. The second is ‘Phae Thang’ about a maid’s daughter who stays with three handsome but very different brothers in a big house on Soi Thonglor (Sukhumvit Soi 55). The third is ‘Kep Rak’ about a handsome barber in Siam Square who is adored by three ladies. And the last is ‘Khon Mee Saneh’ and tells the story of the love between a Thai dessert vendor’s daughter and a broken-hearted millionaire.  Pae Arak, Hanz Isariya, Kacha, Mo Monchanok, Saiparn, Jes Jespipat, Gipsy Wanida, Baitoey Suwapit, Tai Penpak as well as newcomers Tua Sethawut, Fon Sananthachat, and Tia the Face 3 are among the stars.”

The launch event started with the trailers for the four new series and was followed by a project presentation by Ekachai and Phawit Chitrakorn, chief executive of the business group. The 33 actors taking part in series, among them Victor Chatchawis, Meko Chonnikan, Nat Thephasadin, Petch Karunphol, Gina D MBO, Ten Thosathis, Great Sapol, Kan Korawis, Prem Phumipat, Boss Natchapongphol, Emma MBO, and Typhoon KPN, were then introduced.

The series will be broadcast on GMM 25 every Saturday and Sunday at 5pm. “Please” and “Phae Thang” air on July 15 and July 16 respectively and will also screen on Line TV at 7pm.
