Auto season heats up with third show

THE AUTO SHOW season is shifting into high gear with the third event of the year kicking off yesterday at Impact Muang Thong Thani.

The Fifth Bangkok International Auto Salon, which is scheduled to continue until Sunday, follows the Bangkok Motor Show in March and the FAST Auto Show that just ended on Sunday.
Two more major events will be held this year – the BIG Motor Sale next month and the Motor Expo in December.
Besides the automobile and motorcycle companies, which came with attractive sales promotions and special models, many tuners and accessories manufacturers are also present at the Bangkok Auto Salon, which emphasises customisation.
Top picks from the annual Tokyo Auto Salon are displayed every year, while outstanding custom cars from China, Malaysia and Singapore join the local custom car crowd in the region’s largest show of its kind.
“The Bangkok International Auto Salon has grown stronger every year with its ‘custom car’ theme based on the original Tokyo Auto Salon.

Highlight vehicles
“The highlight vehicles are the top exhibits from the Tokyo Auto Salon that have won prizes at the event in January,” organiser Wiluck Lohthong said.
“This year we also have custom cars from China for the first time as well as exhibits from leading Asean tuners, whether from Malaysia or Singapore.”
BIAS serves as an annual car lover’s show and gathering of many clubs, with members socialising and showing off their customised cars.
This year’s event is expected to draw large crowds with leading auto companies promoting special sales campaigns.
Among them are Toyota, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mazda, Nissan, Honda Modulo, BMW, Mini and |Subaru.
Motorcycle companies taking part include Yamaha, Suzuki, BMW Motorrad, Benelli, Harley-Davidson, Ducati and Royal Enfield.
Among the well-known aftermarket brands are Oak Club, Liberty Walk, PP Superwheels Thailand and Pioneer audio.
