Where’s the ‘justice’ in a system that gives green light to rich killers?

Where’s the ‘justice’ in a system that gives green light to rich killers?

A little over a year ago I watched a video clip of what was termed a road traffic offence wherein a Janepob Veeraporn, purportedly “driving” a Mercedes-Benz car, violently rammed into another vehicle causing it to explode and kill the two young occupants.

Unlike many supposed accidents or collisions, this wasn’t a mere driving error, a mistake of judgement or a lapse of concentration. It was more akin to a Kamikaze attack in that he ploughed straight into the car ahead at a speed probably in excess of 150kph. On Wednesday, after confessing, he was sentenced to 30 months in jail – and then released pending an appeal. Yes, despite confessing, he is appealing this lenient sentence!
This, plus the other well-publicised motoring offence committed by “Boss”, are fine examples to the public of why police and judicial reform is so badly needed. These two men misused the public highway in such an arrogant and violent manner, causing death by their negligent attitude and yet both still walk the streets. Back in June a man received a 35-year sentence for pictures he posted on Facebook. And we call this justice?
