Is Suu Kyi powerless to prevent junta-style rule?  

Not only has Aung San Suu Kyi gone along with the atrocities against the Rohingya, but now she’s ignoring the suppression of journalists and political dissidents in her country, as reported on Monday in your newspaper.
If she’s really too scared or powerless to do anything about these outrages then the decent thing for her to do would be to resign and disassociate herself from that government. But I doubt she has enough dignity or self-respect left to do that.
