Covestro invests in environmental awareness among youths

Covestro Thailand has launched a program that aims to provide environmental knowledge and practical how-to to teachers from various schools to help them set a positive example and influence on environmental consciousness amongst youths.

This training program involve 39 teachers from 13 schools in Bangkok and Map Ta Phut in Rayong.
Participating institutions include Nawamintharachinuthit Triamudomsuksanomklao School, Debsirin Romklao School and Debsirin Samut Prakan School.
Teachers learn techniques, communication tools and tips to master environmental consciousness.
The program integrates digital elements into the training as per the government’s Thailand 4.0, by encouraging teachers to apply social media tools effectively and encourage students to share their experiences and tips relating to the program on social media, which will inspire others, said Dr Daniel Koch, managing director of Covestro Thailand.
He said that given the company is a leader in innovating and manufacturing high-performance polymer materials, it foresaw the importance of operating the business sustainably to reduce its negative impact on the environment.
In the past year, the company produced 25,000 copies of an educational book series, “Brighter Minds for A Brighter World”, to “enlighten” primary and elementary school students about environmental preservation, with an essential focus on the importance of proper waste disposal and its affect on our ecology, especially marine ecosystems.
The company said it had received “wonderful feedback” on its various environmental training programs from students.
