NBTC TO SET UP PANELS FOR SPECTRA AUCTIONS
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) will soon set up working panels to draft plans for the auctions of 1800MHz and 850MHz spectra, whose concession terms will both end on September 16, 2018.
NBTC secretary general Takorn Tantasith said yesterday that the drafting was expected to be finished in December and a public hearing on the draft was likely to be concluded in April next year.
It is the incoming NBTC that will consider the final draft and call for the bidding for both spectra, as the six-year term of the existing NBTC will end tomorrow. The new NBTC law empowers the existing watchdog to continue its duties until the new one takes office.
