New GM for St Regis Bangkok
The St Regis Bangkok is this month welcoming hospitality industry expert Klaus Christandl as its new general manager. Having amassed more than 27 years of experience in the hotel industry, of which a dozen have been as a general manager, Christandl is no stranger to The St Regis family.
He joins Bangkok’s most desirable address from Singapore’s own, The St Regis Singapore.
Austrian-born, Christandl began his hospitality career in Vienna, working his way up the Food & Beverage ladder, with some of the finest brands in the industry, including Mandarin Oriental and 20 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. His path has taken him across Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, including Macau, The Philippines, Thailand, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Austria and Singapore.
“I am thrilled to be back in Thailand, once again. This country has always held a special place in my heart, with its unique spirit of hospitality and rich culture. I am very much looking forward to taking charge of one of the city’s finest and most luxurious hotels,” he says.
A dedicated and passionate hospitality leader, Christandl has garnered industry awards along the way. He has also overseen significant renovation and revitalisation programs, as well as successful brand repositioning projects, including the iconic 143-year-old Hotel Imperial, in Vienna, during his tenure from 2011 to 2015.
In his latest role with The St Regis brand, Christandl is fully committed to consolidating The St Regis Bangkok’s position as ‘The City’s Most Enviable Address’, where a culture of excellence prevails.
