Fit-again Moriya completes 3-way Thai challenge in KL

MORIYA Jutanugarn returns to action at the Sime Darby LPGA tournament in Malaysia tomorrow after a three-week injury break which forced her to withdraw from two Asian events.

The world No 25 sprained her left ankle while training earlier this month and had to skip the LPGA tournaments in Taiwan and South Korea.
She will rejoin her sister, the former world No 1 Ariya, at the par 72 6,246-yard TPC Kuala Lumpur East Course.
Before the injury Moriya, 23, had been one of the most consistent players on the tour, posting three straight top 10 finishes, including the year’s last major, the Evian Championships in France.
The 2013 LPGA Rookie of the Year actually led after two rounds of the rain-shortened event but slipped on the final day and had to settle for third.
The Thai No 2 will be making her fifth attempt in Malaysia, where her best result to date was her equal 24th place 12 months ago.
Her sister Ariya, having missed the cut in three successive LPGA events before the Asian swing, has started showing some improvement lately, finishing tied for 33rd and 30th in Taiwan and South Korea respectively.
Her best finish in Kuala Lumpur was ninth five years ago, when she was still amateur.
Thai No 3 Pornanong Phatlum is the other Kingdom’s representative at KL, where she will try to better her best result, runner-up in 2015.
