Deutsche Bank AG wins bid to issue baht bonds
The Finance Ministry has granted Deutsche Bank AG permission to issue baht-dominated bonds or debentures in Thailand through next March on the understanding that the proceeds will be used in onshore exchanges of baht and US dollars.
The ministry reserved the right to restrain any issuance if there are “significant” changes in the bank’s financial status or structure or if it violates the agreed conditions.
The ministry has offered its “sincere appreciation” to all applicants who showed interest in the Thai bond market.
Submissions will be considered every March, July and November.
