A few look for the park under Taksin bridge

The aim was to make the gardens lively and fetching so the local community was once again interested in using it to meet, exercise, and enjoy social activities, while also boosting tourism in the area.

Chakkapan Phewngam, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, said that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) had drawn up five instant policies to develop and solve problems in the city to allow Bangkok to grow more efficiently. These include rehabilitating degraded areas, with the commercial community in the district providing facilitators for the projects to promote safe and strengthen relationships.

 Supoj Chaiwatsirikul, managing director of the shopping complex, says Iconsiam considers it a corporate responsibility make positive impacts on society, environment and culture. “We also focus on sustainable socio-economic development, assuring the local communities along the Chao Phraya River can live harmoniously and proudly with nature. We are committed to supporting the communities nearby, to preserving Thai culture and traditions, and to taking care of the environment of the waterfront communities along the Chao Phraya River,” he said.

The 20[-rai Royal Honorary Park under the King Taksin Bridge was established in 1996 as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession to the Throne, and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s birthday. After serving the public for more than 20 years, the park needed rehabilitation so it could once again serve the Klong San people and nearby communities.

The renovation project, which is now complete, covered the area in front of the park and the footpath of the surrounding area, building a new pavilion, equipping with exercise zone with new fitness machines, as well as renovating and building restrooms.
