Nitchaon reaches third Bitburger final in Germany

Nitchaon Jindapol made back-to-back finals in the Bitburder Badminton Open after she beat Chen Xiaoxin of China 21-14 21-16 in the semi-finals in Saarbrucken on Saturday.

It was her first final since she lost to He Bingjiao of China 11-21 18-21 in the final of  this tournament 12 months ago.

“I tried to move Xiaoxin  around  and went for the attacks when opportunities came. That’s how  I won many points from the match,” said Nitchaon whose one of two World Grand Prix Gold titles occurred here in 2013.

The world No 15 will take on Malaysian world No 12 Beiwen Zhang who leads her 3-1 in their lifetime record.

“I lost to her before.  But I will try my best, will find a way to return her the favour. Although I’m an under-dog I will try to fight hard. I want to win and take the title back home for fans. This is my third time in the final. I’m happy to live up to my standard again,” she added.

Thailand also have representatives in the women’s doubles finals as second seeded Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai will face Japanese Akane Araki and Aoi Matsuda.
