It’s all down to the community

It’s all down to the community

Ari Park of the Government Public Relations Department on Soi Ari off Phaholayothin 7 turns into a playground next weekend, aiming to build networks among communities for natural and environmental preservation through a variety of eco living activities.

The three-day “Ari Fairground Social Market” takes place from next Friday (November 24) to November 26. It is co-organised by Pa Thai Social Enterprise and the Sustainable Promotion Alliance for Responsible Creations (SPARC).
Pa Thai Social Enterprise is a group of city developers in Phyathai district who want to see communities enjoying a better quality of life. Pa Thai has developed “Ari Happy City” to allow residents to participate in shaping a better community with a good environment and improved quality of life.
SPARC is the grouping of collectives who support the “save the world in creative way” concept. It is an assembly of 19 organisations including major national energy bodies, educational institutes, communities and private companies who share knowledge and experiences with the public so that they are encouraged to take care of the environment. They also encourage the establishment of a city model that consumes energy efficiently thus reducing global warming.
Visitors to next weekend’s event can enjoy a healthy cooking show by Chudaree “chef Tam” Debhakam, who at just 24 years of age, was the very first winner of the reality TV show “Top Chef Thailand”.
To raise people’s consciousness of environmental issues, there is a fashion show fashioned from recycle materials by Ari youth residents from Suan Bua school. Eco-cars and electric tuk tuks will also be unveiled together with eco products from more than 70 shops.
Also on display will be a model demonstration of “An ideal road of Soi Ari” on which local residents have worked with professional designers to bring a clean, shady and safe environment to the area.
Workshops are also available, among them choosing the right bicycle to fit your needs and how to ride safely in a big city, coffee testing by top baristas, how to take care of big trees in the city, as well as free health consultations by Vichaiyuth Hospital.
