Newly registered foreign businesses tops 260 this year
Fourteen foreign firms registered to operate business in Thailand in the first half of this month, with a combined investment value of Bt425 million and employing 112 Thai staff, Kulanee Issadisai, director-general of the Commerce Ministry’s Business Development Department, said on Tuesday.
This brings the number of newly registered foreign businesses to 262 for the year.
Most of this month’s newcomers are from Japan, Singapore, the US, South Korea and Germany, with businesses in the retail, accounting adviser, information technology, corporate management adviser, engineering design, and trading sectors, she said.
From January 1 through November 15, the 262 foreign companies registering to do business in Thailand had a combined investment value of Bt7.1 billion, the official added.
Some 319 firms with an investment value of Bt6.4 billion registered in the same period last year.
