Chanathip eyes on better  season with Sapporo

National striker Chanathip Songkrasin hoped for a better season in 2018 with Consadole Sapporo after he went through a six month period with the Japanese tier 1 team without scoring any goal.

The Muangthong United forward who is the first Thai player in the history to play in the Japan League is on an 18-month loan with Sapporo and is during a month break at home.

“My responsibility is to keep working hard and stay in shape as I want to play in the team on a regular basis. I hope that I will be allowed to play more with the team and help them to perform better,” added the 24-year-old player who just signed a seven digit value deal with Panasonic Alkaline yesterday.

Despite moderate results from 14 games  with Sapporo along with the arrival of the new coach Mihailo Petrovic of Serbia in the January, Chanathip doesn’t have a heavy heart and said he is already proud of what he has done.

“I have no idea what will be the direction of the chairman and the new coach. I’m not worried. At least I was part of the mechanism that helped the team to remain in the tier 1.” Said Chanathip who will return to Japan in January to complete his commitment with Sapporo.

In terms of his contract with Panasonic battery, Chanathip aka Messi Jay will feature in the new commercial of the alkaline battery which is 10 times longer lasting than normal battery.

“As he is playing professional football in Japan and has long stamina, he matches our brand image,” said Hidekazu Ito Managing Director of Panasonic Siew Sales Thailand.

On his relationship with  Pitchanart “May” Sakhakorn, Chanathip said he admitted he desired to have a serious with future with the actress.

“She has been nicer to me than I to her. She can get along very well with my family. As I’m getting older now, I can be ready to move our relationship to another level,” he said.
