Next month’s Bangkok Block Party a fun fundraiser

Next month’s Bangkok Block Party a fun fundraiser

Nightclub BlaqLyte, Future Factory and underground rap tribe Rap are holding a “Bangkok Block Party” at ASquare on Sukhumvit Soi 26 on January 13.

It promises to have the city’s best music, art and food lined up for 12 epic hours of fussfree partying.
There will be four huge stages sharing beats from such overseas stars as electroindie duo Cherub, electrodance trio Autograf and electronic beats genius Paper Diamond.
The heavyduty rap will be on the “BlaqLyte x Rap is Now” in the form of Cozy Boys, Thaiboy Digital, Southside and Younggu X Rahboy.
And on the Flow House stage will be local favourite DJs Dan Buri, Note P, Eey and Mon P.
Popup booths serving the city’s most popular foods will include Shades of Retro burgers, After You Desert kakigori, Barrio Bonito tacos and Meat & Bones barbecued meats.
Coffee experts Grind Size and A Stimulant by Sarnies will have the java to keep the vibrations going.
Among the art stalls will be ceramics, woodwork, street art gallery and live painting demonstrations.
Penny boards will be available for scooting around the grounds, and fans of water sports can ask about discount prices at Flow House.
Amid the fun, you can even get your hair styled by Rip Curl, Young & Hungry and Pretty Boy Gears.
Best of all, there’s a good cause involved. Part of the proceeds goes to the 32 Foundation founded by BlaqLyte owner Nick Supreda, which gives shelter and support to orphans around Thailand, and Timothy Prompun Henderson and Ubib Piyavipa Indradat’s Help Thai, which helps ensure underprivileged children in Buri Ram get some schooling.
The Youth Barbershop stall at the event will also be collecting money for these organisations.
Tickets cost Bt900 in advance from Eventpop.me and Bt1,500 at the door.
