Chanathip get pay hike

J-League team Consadole Sapporo gave a big pay rise to Chanathip Songkrasin for the upcoming season, according to his original club SCG Muangthong United.

The 24-year-old, who is on loan from the six-time Thai League winners, will receive a raise of around US$40,000 (around Bt130,000 per month) for his remaining time with Sapporo in 2018. However the club did not reveal his overall monthly salary.
SCG Muanthong United’s Viluck Lothong said he had already given the nod for the offer from the Japanese side as Chanathip had only served six months with the team of the 18-month-contract.
“Chanathip has proved that he is determined, professional, disciplined and remains in great fitness which led to good results with Consadole Sapporo,” Viluck said.

Chanathip who has entered monkhood for a week at his hometown in Nakhon Pathom province appeared in 16 games with Sapporo and helped the team to finish 11th, their best position in the J-League in 19 years.

After finishing his ordination later this week, Chanathip will resume training and return to Japan on January 9. Sapporo are to have a preseason training in Okinawa before the 2018 J-League starts on February 24.
