Centara Hua Hin top destination for families

Centara Hua Hin top destination for families

Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin is embracing multi-generational travel with a wide variety of amenities and activities tailored to all age groups.

“This is a resort that captures the elegance of Thailand’s past and enhances it with modern services and facilities,” says general manager David Martens. “Although the hotel retains a classical charm, we also embrace the present to deliver an incredible array of experiences for every guest, young and old.”
Understanding that modern families come in a variety of sizes with equally diverse holiday needs, the resort offers a choice of 11 different accommodation types to suit every configuration.
Rooms and suites range in size from 37 to 170 square metres, with every type able to accommodate three guests, including one child.
Families seeking extra can select from five different types of suites or stay in one of the 42 stand-alone villas. The villas are located in an adjacent estate and have a separate swimming pool – one of four at the resort, each offing a different atmosphere – from fun and games in the kids’ pool to more tranquil relaxation at the garden pool.
When families aren’t cooling off in the pools, they can enjoy a game of table tennis, volleyball or football, practise their golf on the putting green or lose themselves in a maze.
Youngsters can be kept entertained throughout the day at the Kids’ Club, which features a Camp Safari for younger children and an E-Zone for teens.
A daily schedule of activities is available, offering everything from arts and crafts to treasure hunts, penalty shoot-outs and tennis lessons with a professional coach.
While the kids are being amused, parents can unwind with an indulgent couple’s package at Spa Cenvaree, one of many opportunities for romance at the resort.
Meanwhile guests wanting to stay in shape can enjoy a range of health and fitness options, including gym sessions, yoga and Pilates classes, aqua aerobics, tai chi and Thai boxing training.
Family bonds can also be strengthened with a series of multi-generational activities, such as family photo tours, guided heritage walks around the 28-acre grounds and topiary gardens, and a special “Selfie Treasure Map” featuring 10 locations and prizes for the best pics posted on Instagram.
“While multi-generational travel is a relatively new trend, Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin has been welcoming families for three generations,” notes Martens. “Couples who got married here are now returning their kids, and even with their grandchildren. Our facilities mean that family time can easily be combined with personal experiences and private moments.”
One way to bring families together is through food, and the resort offers an eclectic choice of dining experiences for every occasion. Six restaurants and bars serve everything from authentic Thai food to Japanese teppenyaki and mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine, plus kid’s dishes and vegetarian-vegan options.
The hotel is also a popular wedding venue, with a seafront wedding pavilion and the soft sands of Hua Hin Beach providing idyllic options for couples who want to tie the knot in a tropical paradise setting.
Originally named the Railway Hotel due to its position on the main rail line between Bangkok and Malaya, Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin was once a secluded beach retreat.
Since it opened in the 1920s, however, the town has grown into a thriving seaside city and the hotel now lies at the heart of the action. Home to modern shopping malls, local-produce markets, water parks, wineries and world-class gold courses, Hua Hin is a true multi-generation destination.
