Thailand fight back to beat Taiwan in Fed Cup
Thailand won the crucial doubles to beat Taiwan 2-1 in day two of the Fed Cup Zone Asia/Oceania Qualifying Group I pool B tie in New Delhi on Thursday.
The Kingdom’s squad, after losing 0-3 to Japan on Wednesday, got off to a poor start when Cup debutant Patcharin Cheapchandej lost the opening rubber to Pei-Chi Lee 6-4 4-6 3-6.
But Thai ace Luksika Kumkhum levelled the tie for Thailand by vanquishing Chieh-Yu Hsu 6-0 6-1.

In the deciding doubles, Luksika teamed up with Peangtarn Plipuech to beat Ching-Wen Hsu and Pei-Chi Lee 7-5 6-2.
In the other pool B tie, heavy-favourites Japan toppled South Korea 3-0 to stay on top of the group. Japan will play Taiwan in the last preliminary round today while Thailand face South Korea.
