Between arrogance of atheists and believers lies the curious agnostic

Re: “Atheists bow to evidence, believers worship fairy tales”, Have Your Say, March 5.

Egon thinks that Richard Dawkins’ book “The God Delusion” debunks all religion. Egon, you’ve got to be joking.
While the atheist Dawkins makes some good points in his book, he doesn’t come close to answering my question of how you can make something out of nothing. Evolution simply says that lower life forms evolved into higher life forms. But how was the lowest life form, which set off the evolutionary process, created in the first place?
Egon also writes that the Bible is a bunch of fairy tales. So what? You can believe in God without believing in the Bible or even belonging to any particular religion.
Personally I’m an agnostic because I don’t find either the believers or the atheists to be very convincing. It is fine to be an atheist or a believer. But it’s misleading and arrogant for either side to claim that they know with absolute certainty that they’re right when they can’t produce the evidence to prove it.
