PUBLIC WILL HAVE SAY ON POWER PLANT SITES
The National Energy Reform Committee has said that, under the planned energy reform, Thais could propose areas for the construction of power plants as a means to lessen the problems associated with the building of large-sized facilities due to unmet demands of the public sector.
This year, a national committee will define privileges and criteria for people and communities across the country in terms of their needs and rights to propose, before the government proceeds with land purchseas and investments in Thailand's new Power Development Plan (PDP) next year, said Pornchai Rujiprapa, chairman of the National Energy Reform Committee.
