Trump put US interests at risk with Putin call

Along with unexpectedly congratulating Russia’s Vladimir Putin by phone last month for his re-election as president, while failing to raise the issue of the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain – President Donald Trump has invited Putin to a bilateral summit at the White House “in the not too distant future”.

That summit now appears to have been put on hold indefinitely, because just a few days after the phone call, the US expelled 60 Russian diplomats in alignment with its 20-plus European allies, in protest of the British poisoning.
Trump’s invitation to Putin took US State Department diplomats by surprise, since such summits take much preparation as well as negotiations between officials of both countries over what subjects to discuss, and what agreements they might sign.
It seems President Trump is in total darkness as to how the US administration should be run in a proper way; and is at risk of unwittingly opening his country for foreign exploitation.
