Somyot links break-in at Thai FA to match-fixing
Football chief Somyot Poompanmoung says intruders who broke into Thai FA headquarters in Hua Mark on Tuesday night were seeking documents that recorded evidence of match-fixing.
Former police chief Somyot said the FA finances and accounting room was broken into but no items of value were missing.
However, security cameras had been tampered with to prevent recording, raising suspicion that an insider was involved in the incident.
Somyot believes the intruders had not found what they were looking for.

“Money is never kept there. I also keep the match-fixing evidence elsewhere since I’m very concerned about its security,” he said.
Last year the FA joined police in launching a serious crackdown on match-fixing in the Thai League. Somyot said he knew the names of more people involved in match-fixing and would reveal them at a later date.
