Milestone Systems, the open platform company in IP video management software (VMS), welcomes their community of partners to the Milestone Community Learning Day on June 29, 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand. The first Milestone Community Learning Day took place in Singapore in 2017, bringing together Milestone Systems’ community of hardware and software partners to discuss industry issues and share the latest technology trends, business insights and solutions. The event in Bangkok is the first of its kind to be held in Thailand.

The focus of the Milestone Community Learning Day in Bangkok will be on Image Technology and how it will impact video management and video technologies in the future. Two prominent guests will speak at the event: Mr. Wisit Phetchuphong, Special Project Expert, Digital Investment and Industry Promotion Department, Digital Economic & Promotion Agency and Khun Kampol Chaksuntasut, Chairman of the IoT Association, who will share their insight on what is shaping the future of smart cities in Thailand.

Wisit Phetchuphong from the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), a part of the Thai Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, will discuss how video technology supports the government’s smart and safe city plan.

“Our ambition is to promote Thai economy and society through digital transformation, and “Smart City” is one of the flagship project to build our city smarter economy, smarter mobility, smarter living, smarter people, smarter governance, smarter environment and energy. Video technology is one of the technologies we’ll be using to pursue our ambition that will help our city increase safety and efficiency,” said Wisit Phetchuphong.

The objective of the IoT Association is to promote and educate local Thai companies to use IoT to improve their business, in accordance with The Ministry of Digital Development for Economy and Society. Khun Kampol Chaksuntasut, Chairman of the IoT Association says:

“Creativity and innovation are the building blocks of a smarter Thailand, and we believe IoT and other smart technologies such as AI and robotics will be critical elements of this process. Video technology will be a vital tool to help process the masses of data generated by IoT translating it into knowledge that can help us fulfil our ambitions to create a smarter nation.”

Milestone Systems is looking forward to bringing its community of partners together, including Red Hat, Oncam, Axis, Bosch, Canon, Agent VI, Allied Telesis, Sony and Gelement, among others.

“We were recently acknowledged as the No. 1 global VMS vendor by company revenue (IHS Markit) for the 10th year running and as the no. one VMS vendor in the APAC region with a market share of 12.4%, compared to 11.7% the year before. Being a market leader would not be possible without our unique open platform community and partnership business model. We look very much forward to share our knowledge with and learn from our partners at the Community Learning Day,” says Milestone Systems’ Vice President, Asia Pacific, Benjamin Low.

During the Milestone Community Learning Day, there will be demos of various applications and networking sessions with Milestone Systems and key Milestone Solution Partners.

The Milestone Community Learning Day takes place on June 29, 2018, at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park in Bangkok, Thailand.
