Stephff not big on Mid-East coffee
On Thursday afternoon, a diplomat from the Iranian Embassy called me at my home asking if we could meet. If any country is not happy with one of my cartoons, I urge its embassy not to harass me at home but to file a complaint directly with this newspaper.
I do not want to have direct contact or even talk on the phone with diplomats from countries that are well known for putting journalists and even cartoonists in jail – Iran being one of them. And even if it is for a chat over coffee, I do accept invitations from countries that do not respect press freedom. Thanks for your attention.
