Painterball shines the spotlight on Moleskine

Painterball shines the spotlight on Moleskine

Moleskine, billed as the creators’ favourite global lifestyle brand, is collaborating with Thai rising-star artist Seatapron Korwanichakul, widely known as Painterbell – the creator of the John Lulu and Friends characters.

The collaboration is showcasing the creator’s unique works using the Moleskine Pen+ Ellipse from the Smart Writing System to create a magical art journey out of the Metro Bags Collection during the Moleskine Wonder Journey Exhibition, which continues until tomorrow (November 14) at Gaysorn Village.
Throughout the exhibition, Moleskine crafts a magical journey allowing everyone to experience the Moleskine Metro Bags Collection through John Lulu and Friends. At the grand opening event, many art lovers including Pita Limjaroenrat, Patsamon Piriyametha, Phannapast Taychamaythakool and Sorravis Prakong, expressed their interest in the exhibition.
Apart from the paper-made inspiration tools, Moleskine encompasses a family of objects that enhance productivity and creativity including bags and travel accessories. Moleskine began the bag journey in 2011, starting with the Classic Bag Collection by Giulio Iacchetti, featuring a classic and luxury design, along with refreshing quality unisex features. The journey continued with the Classic Bag Leather Collection, premium leather bags and wallets; and the ID Bag and Wallet Collection, with its lightweight nylon, waterproof canvas, and modern colour ranges. Suited to the fast-moving world, the designs of Moleskine bags are well received and supported by all urban nomads worldwide.
The current Metro Bags Collection is inspired and developed based on its predecessors’ feature benefits: the combination of the refreshing quality unisex features, and the strong lightweight nylon, waterproof canvas materials. The result is six new sets of unisex designs coming in four colour ranges,
“I’m always on my feet – wandering for a sketch, attending events, and going to work. My job requires a lot of equipment, so being able to carry everything all in one single Moleskine Weekender Tote really suits my lifestyle. The tote comes in black – my favourite colour – and is lightweight yet durable, and, at the same time, wide enough to carry even a laptop. It really suits me and represents who I am,” Painterbell said.
To celebrate the Moleskine Wonder Journey Exhibition, Painterbell has created a special Moleskine Limited Edition Wonder Journey Notebook featuring Painterbell’s famous John Lulu and Friends characters. There are only 50 notebooks of the special edition memorabilia made; all exclusively available from the Moleskine Pop-up Store, Gaysorn Village.

2 Sansiri

An artist in Bangkok

The Nation

Acclaimed Spanish artist Miquel Barcelo flew into Bangkok recently to paint a “live” art piece in front of an audience on a floating barge in front of Wat Arun, aka the Temple of Dawn.
The “Sansiri Presents Miquel Barcelo: Despintura Fonica” event saw the Spaniard painting on a vast 20 metre long canvas, the biggest artwork he has done to date.
Looking on were actress Jodi Lyn O’Keefe of “Prison Break” fame and her boyfriend Douglas Little. Violinist Ayumi Paul accompanied the artist as he painted
Considered one of the most important living Spanish contemporary artists, Barcelo is known for his experimental approaches to painting and sculpture that are abstract and cerebral. Barcelo’s Neo-Expressionist oeuvre explores decomposition, metamorphosis, and the natural landscape across a wide range of mediums that include paintings, drawings, ceramics and cast-iron structures.
An artistic nomad, Barcelo draws inspiration from his time spent in varying countries and continents, although he always returns to his native Mallorca in Spain. He has continued to experiment with the materials of his art over the past four decades, frequently incorporating materials from his extensive travels into his paintings. He us best known for his installation on the domed ceiling of the Human Rights and Alliance of Civilisations Chamber at the UN Palace of Nations in Geneva.
